Today we had a Celebration of Life!

The oldest child in our iMontessori family turned 5!
We are so blessed to have this kind-hearted leader amongst us to help guide and inspire us all!

We honored the life and accomplishments of this child with a poster including memories from each year  so far. Throughout the day, this oldest was a tremendous role model for the rest of us when explaining the photos on her homemade poster.

We also recognized this special birthday by "pin-pushing" the number 5!

And of course we shared a treat- little birthday ice cream cups! It was so pleasant to sit out in nature, sing the birthday song, and gather to eat something sweet!

Most Popular Work of the Day!!

Ms. Lisa came across this idea last week in a Montessori guide book. I happened to be rearranging the contents of the cupboards and realized I had the materials to create it right in front of me! The basket contains 4 orange clothes pins, 4 green clothes pins, and 4 blue clothes pins. Some children were seen focusing really hard on pinching that clothespin just hard enough to clip it to an edge of the basket- developing fine motor skills. While others were observed categorizing them by color and counting them too!
