A Third Child Turned 5!

Although this beautiful lady's 5th birthday was 5-6 months past the other two 5 year olds, she kept pace with them, displaying determination with grace. She has an unique and loving soul and the pictures on her "life poster" (from birth to her 5th birthday) really represented her personality!

It was an incredible "celebration of life", as a room full of children practiced being in the moment, and giving their undivided attention to the birthday girl. But as I was writing this blog post, I felt bored just writing about the traditions of our birthday celebration. This time, I found myself really thinking back on the birthday girl's progress over the past year in our classroom. Perhaps this urge came because we are nearing the last leg of the school year, a time to reflect on the year's happenings. But whatever the source of inspiration, it was a blast pulling pictures of this beauty, starting from the very first day of school! She certainly will always have a special place in my heart!
